Roma, a free transfer defence: experience and choices but no transfer fee

Today’s edition of The Messenger takes stock of the situation at Roma. The Giallorossi club has focused heavily on experienced players, especially in terms of the back line. The arrivals of Matts Hummels and Mario Hermoso represent an injection of experience for Daniele De Rossi’s team, which can now count on a department of absolute value. Overall, also analyzing the other sectors, the club from the capital has spent around 120 million euros.

Of these, however, none on the back line. In fact, the defenders all arrived on a free transfer. From Ndicka to Ryan, obviously passing through Hermoso and Hummels, all players who arrived were free agents. Even Svilar, a very reliable goalkeeper, arrived without any transfer fees.
