Low profile, if not very low. Yet Kacper Urbanski made his Serie A debut at 16. Three seasons ago, in May, after signing a contract with Bologna on February 1st. He came from Lechia Gdansk, a club where he had played 10 games: 6 games in the IV league, four in Ekstralasa. Not bad for someone who was only 15 years old at the time of his debut. He also had time to set a record in Italy, as he is the youngest Polish player to ever debut in Serie A.
Last season he was a factor in qualifying for the Champions League. Not a small feat for someone who is still a teenager and has to sign a new contract with Bologna for a long time. He still has one year left on his contract, until June 30, 2025, with an option for 2026. It remains to be seen what his future will be, but in the season with Thiago Motta he grew a lot, without scoring his first official goal. On the other hand, he found the national team jersey: 5 appearances so far, 0 goals, but the feeling that he could be a pillar for the next cycle.
In short, at least in his ideas he could be one of the next prospects that our Serie A will show off, to become a star. Then he will have to measure himself with reality, but the feeling is that he could be a protagonist for a decent period of time. Today Kacper Urbanski turns 20.
