M.Orlando: “Nico Gonzalez? I don’t know if it was the right choice for Juve”

To comment on today’s issues at TMW Radioduring Maracanawas the former footballer Max Orlando.

Yildiz and the 10 with Juventus. How do you see it?
“Juventus has invested a lot in this boy, assigning him the most important and weighty shirt. He doesn’t seem like a player who can represent a symbol yet, but he is still something below certain champions. But he has a coach who teaches football, with Motta he will learn many more things. I see him less as an attacking midfielder than other champions who have moved to Juve”.

Why did Juve give away Soulé and for almost the same amount they took Nico Gonzalez? Couldn’t they keep the first one?
“I always believe that Giuntoli agreed with Motta on the transfer market. If he arrives and has Soulé at home and considers him the most important winger, he won’t leave. I personally would have kept him, then they made up for it with Nico Gonzalez, who is a very particular player, who often gets injured. I don’t know if Juve, thinking about such an intense season, took the best solution”.

Are we sure of the quality of Giuntoli’s transfer campaign?
“Juve has finished a cycle, on paper they have taken potentially very good players, they have taken one of the best coaches around, maybe not this year but they will become very strong. The pitch will then tell how things are, but they seem like the right moves to me. Today we are moving towards a serious project and for a club like Juve I think it is fundamental”.

How well can Lukaku do for Napoli?
“Napoli are a serious competitor for the Scudetto. For me, knowing Conte, he will put him in a position to be physically devastating, as seen at Inter. If he can bring him back to those levels, I feel like saying he can get close to 30 goals. In Rome Lukaku was heavy, he was static, Conte can bring him back to optimal conditions and then he can make the difference”.
