Guido AngelozziFrosinone’s sporting director, during the press conference to present the latest official signings, also spoke of a failed negotiation for Nicolò Savona, who became one of the great revelations of Serie A, with a goal on his debut against Juve and a subsequent call-up to the Under 21 national team:
“I have an excellent relationship with Juve: I wanted Savona, but he’s a starter there. We had selected players who play in Serie A. I also wanted Hasa, but when there’s competition from Serie A it’s tough. Juve had made themselves available. In the meantime, we bought one and that’s Pecorino. Is there a regret for this missed deal? I never have a regret, if someone can’t get there, so be it”.
The words of the Juve defender on his truly explosive, perhaps even unexpected, start to the season. “It was overwhelming. I am very happy and pleased with this call-up, it is the first and I hope there will be others. I am experiencing very strong emotions, I am more than happy. I received the call before my debut at the Stadium: step by step, I first thought about the Juventus match, then about the blue shirt. It is still a nice thing when you are out and about and they ask you for a photo. I remember when I was little and I was the one asking for photos and now I am starting to enter this world. I put myself completely at the disposal of people”.
