The defender born in 2003 was announced by the Belgian club with this statement: “Reece Welch will join our ranks. The 20-year-old English-Jamaican central defender comes on loan from Everton FC U21 for one season.

Welch spent the first half of last season on loan at Forest Green Rovers, where he made 23 appearances. He then returned to Everton in January, where he was also allowed to play for the first team in preparation for the new season. A number of clubs, both in England and abroad, have shown interest in the young defender, but KMSK Deinze have now reached an agreement with Everton on a season-long loan.
