Training day at Coverciano for theItaly by Luciano Spalletti ahead of the Nations League match against France in Paris. The Azzurri team, as confirmed by the coach in the opening press conference of the retreat, will start this new cycle with the 3-5-2 or its declinations and this is exactly what the former coach who won the championship with Napoli has worked on.
Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bastoni, Calafiori; Cambiaso, Frattesi, Ricci, Tonali, Dimarco; Raspadori, Retegui. This was the first starting eleven tested by Spalletti on the pitch in the training match against the “second team”, always lined up with 3-5-2 with a defense composed of Okoli, Gatti and Buongiorno. In midfield Bellanova and Udogie on the outside lanes with the trio Brescianini, Fagioli and Pellegrini in the center, while up front here is Zaccagni in support of Moise Kean. The Fiorentina striker, after the personalized session two days ago, regularly trained with the group and is therefore to be considered available for the trip to France.
The doubts, despite the tried starting lineup, are many and will be in Spalletti’s head until the hours before Friday night’s match: in defense the ballots are between Gatti and Di Lorenzo and between Buongiorno and Calafiori, while in midfield Fagioli is battling with Ricci and Pellegrini with Frattesi. Today morning training at Coverciano, transfer to Paris at 4 pm and press conference scheduled at the Parc des Princes at 6:30 pm.
