At the microphones of Rai Sportthe midfielder of Inter and the Italian national team David Frattesi he talked about the European Championship in Germany where Italy was eliminated by Switzerland and about the restart in view of the next Nations League and the qualifications for the next World Cup:
The European failure in Germany and the elimination with Switzerland?
“The disappointment was huge because we were unable to give our people an important satisfaction. It wasn’t the best vacation we could have had, but now we are here and we are ready to start again.”
Spalletti took responsibility for the failure at the European Championships, but for Frattesi “the blame is always half because then we are the ones who go on the pitch. If the players do badly it is their fault, I have always thought so also in other types of situations. This does the coach credit for this, but we all made half a mistake. We have understood what we did wrong, we need to start again because it was a big blow both for us and for all the Azzurri people. It was a heavy stain”.
The challenge against Thuram’s France?
“A great person and a great player, always smiling. I hope he smiles less after the match.”
