Nabil Fekir has left Betis Sevilla and moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he will wear the jersey of Al-Jazira. An unexpected farewell, as admitted by sporting director Manu Fajardo: “We did not expect so many departures, because there were operations that we had not taken into account, such as those of Nabil Fekir or Germán Pezzella. These are situations in which the player transmits his message and Fekir already had offers from the United Arab Emirates. Football is made up of cycles and, after five years, Nabil’s at Betis was over. An offer arrived that was appreciated by all parties and considered advantageous for everyone. In the end, a great player like Lo Celso arrived”.
Fekir told the Andalusian club’s channels: “I only had Betis in my head, I thought I would play the whole season here but an offer arrived, an unmissable opportunity. We spoke with my family and also with the club and in the end we decided. Betis helped, as they always do. They have treated me well since I arrived and I can only say thank you.
I will miss the club a lot, that’s for sure. The five years I spent at Betis will not be forgotten, it’s a club that gave me much more than I gave them. I will always wish them the best, that they remain at the top of the league, that more titles arrive and that the players give a lot of joy to the fans. I’m proud of them.
and with the best moment of my career, when I lifted the Cup at home, in our city”.
