15.47. The conference begins.

We saw you on the pitch against Como and Lecce as a right-hand man. How did you find it?
“I felt good, now it will be up to the coach to find the role where I can perform at my best.”

Why did you choose Cagliari?
“I wanted to stay in Italy. I knew they wanted me for a long time.”

Despite the difficulties he always continued to train.
“Absolutely. I had a contract with Atalanta, and even though the coach didn’t want to focus on me, I continued to work. Now I’m happy to be here and I really want to thank everyone who worked hard to get me here, starting last year.”

How much did the sacrifices you made as a child, helping your dad, help you?
“There was a lot of need at that time, and so do many others today. Football has allowed me to meet many people and become stronger, especially mentally. My parents helped me a lot, as they did with my 4 brothers. I was one of the youngest, and they did everything they could to make my dream come true. You reminded me that I will have to call my mother to thank her again”.

What do you think of Nicola and his companions?
“I heard from him before I got here. I understood his identity and his desire to do well. He expects a lot from me, in terms of mentality and experience. I’m here to work, let’s hope it goes well. I knew some teammates, after having already played for a long time in Italy”.

Can you play as a duo with Mina?
“We can both play, but it’s the coach’s decision. The competition, however, continues and can be good.”

The greeting from the Atalanta fans was beautiful.
“Absolutely – It was a banner that I really appreciated. After seven years it was difficult to leave, but I have cultivated a very beautiful relationship with them.”

How can you still be hungry after 7 years in Bergamo?
“It’s demanding, but you’re so busy that it passes quickly. Football gives me ambition and desire to do, I feel that I can still give a lot and improve and this is my strength to have the mentality to surpass myself personally and give a hand to Cagliari.

15.57. End of the conference.
