Arnautovic wanted to retire from the Austrian national team? The striker: “Just a brief thought”

Marko Arnautovic, Inter striker currently busy with the Austrian national team, he spoke at a press conference together with his coach Ralf Rangnick, on the eve of the Nations League match that will see his team face Slovenia.

Here’s what the centre forward said from the press room: “I don’t think anything has changed. We’re in the same mood as the last few months. It’s a lot of fun. We like each other on and off the pitch. We can’t wait for tomorrow’s match.” Austria’s role in the group is clear to the Nerazzurri striker: “Yes, it was clear that the role of favourites would come our way. But with our opponents, the group is not easy. It’s good that we are favourites, but we also have to prove it on the pitch.”

Asked about his emotions after the European Championship exit and the retirement rumours surrounding himthe striker says only: “It was a short thought, but I’m still here.” Now all attention is on the national team, which has shown a changed face since Rangnick arrived two years ago. “I have to praise the coach and everything else. They brought a good philosophy to the team. That will also be seen in the coming years. I think we are getting better and better,” says Arnautovic.
