Interviewed by DAZNthe coach of Roma, Daniel DeRossifocused on some of the protagonists of his current squad. Starting with Soule: “In his first championship he has incredible data, if you look at it he is comparable to the best of his peers in the world. He even surpassed them in dribbling and key passes: it was made easier by being the most important in Frosinone and by having Di Francesco as a coach. When I prepared Frosinone-Roma I told the boys to stick with him because he would become a phenomenon. I then spoke with Paredes, with himself, with his agent who I have known for many years. And his integration was made easier by the fact that it is a good group and that the Argentines are very much a family and pamper each other. He has a clean face and genuine eyes, which I like. I got to know the hunger they have and the desire of the Argentines, the same one shown in the selection phase”.
And there’s also Dovbyk.
“He has seasons with a lot of goals behind him, especially the last one in an incredibly high level championship like the Spanish one, in a team not structured to get so high. I think he is important, both on the scoring side, and to give us an outlet in depth behind the opposing defenses, stretching the others, keeping us short and giving us breathing space”.
Sangare is a recent discovery of yours.
“When I talk about Buba it makes me smile. I admit that it was more of a corporate choice than mine, I didn’t know him well. He’s a good player, I saw a video and thought that in the future he would become important. Then you work with him and you understand that this future can be a little closer. He’s dynamic, he’s incredible, but you can see that he’s instinctive, you have to work on it. But he’ll play football in Serie A, with his eyes closed and without any doubts”.
