No Saudi Arabia for Philip Kostic: in fact, no agreement has been found for his transfer to Al-Ittihad. For the Juventus winger, as well as for Arthur, the option of Turkey remains alive, which today saw Osimhen’s transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray.
Chris Smalling bids farewell to Roma and flies to Saudi Arabia: “AS Roma announces that it has sold Chris Smalling to Al Fayha, on a permanent basis. The English defender, who arrived at the Giallorossi in the summer of 2019, has made 155 appearances and scored 10 goals. In the 2021-22 season, he contributed to the team’s success in the Conference League. The Club wishes Chris all the best for his future”. In his place comes the free agent Mario Beautiful: “AS Roma is pleased to announce the signing of Mario Hermoso. A left-footed defender, born in 1995, he has made more than 300 professional appearances as a centre-back and left-back. Having come through the Real Madrid youth system, he also played for Real Valladolid and Espanyol before joining Atletico Madrid. He remained with Simeone’s team for five seasons, winning the 2020-21 La Liga and also playing in the Champions League. He chose the number 22 shirt and is the eighteenth Spanish player in the Giallorossi’s history to be part of the first team. Welcome to Rome, Mario!”.

According to what was gathered by TMW, in fact, tomorrow there will be the announcement of Comuzzo while to follow – in these weeks of break in the championship – it will be the turn of the attacker Christian Kouame. The Ivorian, born in 1997, will extend his contract at least until 2027.

A year after his arrival, Alex Telles leaves Saudi Arabia. In the summer of 2023, the Brazilian full-back left Manchester United, for around 5 million euros, and signed with Al-Nassr. But yesterday the Saudi Pro League club announced the consensual termination of the contract.
Benfica did not start the season in the best way, the management expected a different start and for this reason the coach Roger Schmidt was fired. The Eagles have collected 7 points in 4 games and to recover they also thought of Massimiliano Allegri, coach fired by Juventus only 4 months ago. According to what was reported by Fichajes.net however, the chosen one seems to be Bruno Lage, who has already coached at Da Luz in the past and who is without a team after the experience at Botafogo.
Bayern Munich striker Thomas Muller spoke to Sky Sport Deutschland about his future: “We’ll see what happens (his contract expires in 2025, ed.). Only the body ages, I fight against that, but it’s not a question of me or the length of the agreement. I try to show the coach that I’m an option for the starting eleven, but to defend Kompany, I have to say that we have a lot of good options in attack (laughs, ed.)”.
Mohamed Simakan has finally decided to move to Saudi Arabia. The defender has in fact said yes to Al-Nassr and joined Cristiano Ronaldo’s team, who paid around 45 million euros to snatch him from Leipzig. During the transfer market, Juventus had also tried, but their offer to the Red Bull club was rejected.
Sevilla resisted and put up a wall when Roma made an attempt in the last days of the transfer market for Loic Bade and has now renewed the defender’s contract. As can be read on the official website of the Andalusian club, the centre-back has signed until 2029.
Joao Ferreira returns home. The 23-year-old central defender, currently still owned by Watford, was loaned to Braga with an option to buy, who brought him back to Portugal, with the aim of relaunching him and allowing him to play for something more important than what he would have done in the Championship. Last season he wore the Udinese jersey in Serie A, playing 37 games in the league.
After less than a year at Benfica, Marcos Leonardo leaves the Portuguese and moves for around 40 million euros to Saudi Arabia, where he will play for Al-Hilal. The former Roma transfer target is therefore abandoning European football for a country that is certainly growing, but is still far behind in terms of the level of the championship.
It was in the air, now it’s official: Al-Ittihad has purchased the Portuguese Danilo Pereira from PSG, paying around 5 million euros. The French club thanked the midfielder for his contribution, while the Saudi club welcomed him by writing: “A new tiger in the city”.
Willian has decided not to continue in the Premier League with Fulham and has been back on the free agent market for some time. The Brazilian, who previously played for Arsenal and Chelsea, has signed with Olympiacos, the club that won last season’s Conference League by beating Fiorentina in the final.
Chelsea have announced the transfer of Angelo, a striker who has joined Al-Nassr on a permanent basis for around €23 million, including a clause on the player’s resale. After playing on loan at Strasbourg in the 2023-2024 season, the attacking winger is leaving the Blues and flying to Saudi Arabia.
He seemed very close to moving to Al-Ittihad, but in the end Galeno will stay at Porto. During the summer, Juventus were also interested in the offensive winger, but in this case the Saudi club went further, even reaching an agreement with the Dragoes and with the player himself. For this reason, the club published a statement to clarify things: “Regarding the failed transfer of the athlete Wenderson Galeno to Al-Ittihad, FC Porto informs that it will send a communication to the president of the aforementioned club and the president of the Saudi Arabian League, noting its deep disappointment with the way in which the process was carried out. A negotiation was conducted and stopped after a full agreement was reached between the clubs and the athlete. FC Porto is delighted to have the player Galeno in its staff and strengthens its confidence in the professional’s abilities and motivation to continue the magnificent performances shown at FC Porto”.
For every deal that falls through, another one materializes: if Galeno stayed at Porto it is because the Saudis preferred another player, namely Steven Bergwijn who signed for Al-Ittihad. Ajax will receive around 25 million euros, the Dutchman has already signed a contract with the yellow and blacks.
