The director of the technical area Alex Casella he spoke in a press conference about the recently concluded market which could still bring the arrival of the offensive winger Soufiane Bidaoui: “It was certainly a complex market. NI haven’t checked yet, but we are probably among the clubs in Serie B and Serie C that have made the most deals, so far we have closed around twenty exits and eleven entries. We have been very active, intervening with numerous movements that usually require two or three market sessions to be completed. – Casella continues as reported by the Estense club’s website – The latest operations have strengthened us and I am confident for the future. I think that, despite everything, we have improved a lot even if it will take time for the team to find its dimension. Some negotiations have not come to fruition due to timing issues, but there is no point in complaining. The attempt to purchase Zilli from Cosenza was particularly complicated. We had to wait until the last minute to try to close it because there were other clubs interested and this one had cut us off”.
Then there is room for possible last minute moves: “We have done everything we could and today we are looking for solutions that will allow us to further strengthen the squad, I would like to underline that the ownership has always been available, also to try to take those players who could have, and have had, an important economic impact. – continues the director – Bidaoui could raise the level of the team, he has characteristics that we lack todayeven if he comes from a season on the margins with Frosinone. El Kaddouri has been with us for a month and is finding his best form. Omar is a versatile player who can give us different solutions in different positions on the pitch”.
Finally a thought on the transfer window open while the championship is being played: “The open market during the championship is inconvenient for those in the industry, especially if it coincides with an official commitment. – Casella concludes by making the final point – We have worked both to improve the economic-financial situation of the club by reducing the wage bill and to change faces in the locker room with the aim of bringing new energy into it. In the coming months we will continue to work to improve the team and the club, knowing that there are still challenges to face. But I am also convinced that with the right synergy between the owners, the coach and the club, we can do great things together.”
