Thiago Motta’s report cards: his Juventus never gives the impression of being able to lose

Juventus cannot go beyond a 0-0 draw at home against Roma and is stopped for the first time in the championship, after two consecutive victories. In the challenge against the Giallorossi, the team of Thiago Motta the goal is missing and the Sports Couriergrade 6, underlines it in his report card: “His Juve does not allow shots on goal but this time it does not even manage to make any. The teams block each other and do not find spaces, his attack this time is not able to make itself dangerous as in the first two games. The insertions of the big players in the second half do not increase the offensive danger. The point still leaves Juve at the top with Inter and Torino”.

Proof enough even for Allsports: “His predecessor theorized that, when you can’t win, at least you shouldn’t lose. The positive note is here: in a very uninspired evening, the team never gives the impression of being able to fall. But in the first half there is a lack of quality and in the second half brilliance: the first real test ends… zero to zero”. He joins in The Sports Gazette: “First half with little pressing and a team that can’t get going, more offensive second half with the new players who however aren’t at their best yet”.

Finally the judgment of TMW: It’s certainly not his most beautiful Juventus, but he certainly liked the compactness and the attitude. He still trusts the youngsters Savona and Mbangula, in the second half he tries to mix things up by inserting Conceiçao and Koopmeiners, but it comes out a dull 0-0: a fair draw with his friend De Rossi”.
