Naples, the Osimhen case will drag on until January: word from Conte and Manna. And he will remain out

No, in the end the case Victor Osimhen has not been resolved. Napoli has been aware since last December that this summer they would have had to sell the Nigerian striker, that is, since the latter signed the contract renewal (with clause) at 10 million euros per season. An engagement outside the parameters, to which the blue club gave the ok only to avoid the risk of losing the player on a free transfer. During the last transfer market session there was a lot of talk about his farewell, with three options above all: Paris Saint-Germain, Premier League (Chelsea above all) and Saudi Arabia. A farewell that seemed obvious but which, in the end, fell through on the very last day of the transfer market.

Osimhen seemed to be one step away from Al Ahli, but the deal fell through. With Chelsea, however, the economic agreement was never reached. And so the former Lille player ended up staying in Naples, disappointed and even disheartened by the fact that Conte has never used him so far. And certainly angry that Naples has completely excluded him from the list for Serie A, which however can be changed two more times. Could Osimhen be reinstated? No, it won’t happen. Word of Anthony Conte:

“No, this is the squad, we made choices. Those who are not consistent do not respect the rules. Hats off to the club, I think the president has shown great consistency despite a significant financial loss. It is right to give credit, the club has shown consistency knowing that the situation could be unblocked and we would all benefit from it. We have filled slots with good players, it took some time to reflect but we got them. I am happy, the club has done well”.

So what will happen to Osimhen? Will he stay in the stands until January or will he try to leave in these last days to countries where the market is open (Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey)? The first option is much more likely, according to the statements of the sporting director John Manna: “The market is still open, there are many options, but I don’t think Victor will go to Arabia in this transfer session”. So no transfer and no reinstatement: Victor will be forced to remain and watch his teammates until the next transfer session opens.
