Juventus failed to win their third consecutive Serie A match. The Bianconeri faced a tough and well-organized Roma. The game was rather blocked and there were very few goal opportunities. Thiago Motta confirmed the formation seen against Verona and in the second half the Italian-Brazilian coach also included new signings Francisco Conceicao, Teun Koopmeiners and Nico Gonzalez. But Juventus failed to find the way to goal and seemed rather frenetic. At the end of the game the Bianconeri gave the impression of being satisfied with the draw.
Thiago Motta very satisfied with this start to the season.
After the first three days of the championship, Juventus has collected seven points and is first in the standings with Torino and Inter. The Bianconeri, in the match against Roma, had the opportunity to extend their lead, but they did not succeed. In any case, for Thiago Motta, this start to the championship is positive: “I am very satisfied with the group, with their commitment, with their attitude from the first training session until today. Players of great talent, respecting the group a lot, trying to put their maximum potential at the service of the team. Today we have to improve our precision in the offensive phase, but the opposing team knew how to defend themselves and not give spaces. So many positive things, done well, I am very happy with the team and the players. Now many will go to the national team, many will stay, then with the group complete we will think about Empoli”. Furthermore, Thiago Motta also focused on the entrance onto the field of Douglas Luiz: “He came on well like all the others. He played a high-level match. He played 30 minutes and something, those who started the game also did well. We have a group of talented players, we have to think game by game and I have to understand who is ready to start and who is ready to come on during the game. We have to be competitive from the first to the last minute. Players who play 60 minutes have to be decisive, but those who play 30 must also be decisive. Douglas did very well”.
Bremer leader on and off the pitch.
As often happens, one of Juventus’ best players on the pitch was Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian led the defense with his usual mastery and Roma’s attackers were impalpable. Bremer, in a press conference, explained what has changed in Juventus’ way of defending compared to Allegri’s management: “It’s changed a lot, we spoke to Gatti, Danilo. Now we’re in a 4-man defense. The coach asks us to defend more with the ball at our feet”. Finally, Bremer underlined that the goal is to always keep a clean sheet, especially if you want to aim for the top spots: “Of course, this is just the beginning. It’s important not to concede goals, the one who wins the Scudetto is the one who concedes the fewest goals. With teams like that, we have to learn to attack when they’re so deep”.
