How much regret is there?
“A lot. We were 2-0 up, but in the second half we gave up playing. We had 3-4 interesting moves, in the second half we gave the ball to them: you can’t spend 45 minutes in the box and hope to make it, you can’t run after your opponents the whole time. We needed a different second half.”
Was something mentally missing?
“I don’t know what it was, but we need to have more courage in keeping the ball and proposing, doing it for longer. A few minutes in the area is great, but fifty…”.
Did you expect a Daniel Maldini like this?
“I’ve known him since he was little… He doesn’t even know the potential he has, he has impressive shots, he has to improve in managing the game. If he finds the key he has no limits”.
He often berated Kyriakopoulos.
“His bad luck was that he was close to me… I want to win. There was an opportunity, we had to crush Fiorentina who were in difficulty. It’s my fault and not the players’, but if the opponent is shaky you have to kill him. Football-wise. We could have done something better but for me the growth was there.
