Inter, Dimarco: “An honor the second star. Happy to have written a piece of history”

The Nerazzurri defender Federico Dimarco spoke in the Matchday Programme of Inter-Atalanta, “Last year was a wonderful season where as a team, group and club we wrote a piece of Inter history”

The Second Star.
“Having won the Second Star is an honor and an achievement that has helped us grow a lot along the way. We believed in it right away, that’s where the group was built and by working hard we demonstrated our value and we reached our goal – continues Dimarco – The most useful advice I could give myself is to never give up, to keep going even in difficult moments. My grandfather and my uncle made me passionate about football, taking me to the stadium to see Inter when I was two years old. From there I started to support this club and I fell in love with football. The greatest emotion? Definitely that of April 22, 2024, at the final whistle of the derby. Winning this Scudetto like we did was incredible, we are very happy to have written this piece of Nerazzurri history”.

The challenges.
“I always challenge Barella in training, we’ve known each other since we were 14 and challenging each other has become a nice habit. I would have liked to challenge Samuel Eto’o, a player I’ve always admired. The biggest challenge I’ve faced? Definitely that of wearing the Inter shirt again.”

The Champions League final.
“The Champions League final was a beautiful match to play, my first and I’m happy to have played it on par with Manchester City. It’s a match that has left a deep impression on us as a group because it made us understand the level of our team. The work of the years before and the awareness that that challenge gave us pushed us to reach the incredible goal of the Second Star. That’s why it means so much to me.”

The family.
“My family has been fundamental, my wife and I have been together since we were 16 and we have two beautiful children who are a part of me and are always close to me.”
