Zazzaroni: “Napoli is the Oscar of the market. Bologna has no vision, Lazio doesn’t dream”

TMW Radio

During the “Maracanà” program on TMW Radio, the director of Corriere dello Sport, Ivan Zazzaroni, spoke to comment on various topics.

Who had the best transfer market? Juventus?
“For me, Napoli made the best transfer market. Juventus spent a lot and did well but the trio Neres-Lukaku-Kvaratskhelia plus Buongiorno and McTominay is a Conte-style market. Juventus spent a lot for me by paying Koopmeiners, who is an excellent player, and taking Douglas Luiz, who I think is too slow. Up front they have only one centre forward. There is something that doesn’t convince me about the Bianconeri”.

What do you expect from Juventus-Roma?
“I’m curious to see Juventus against a team with more quality than Como and Verona. Don’t ask me why, but I think Roma will win.”

What do you think about the situation in Rome?
“Roma has a slow midfield with Cristante and Paredes. It was said that Soulè played a lot on the left but that’s not the case. In the end, De Rossi moved him back to the right, in fact. For the transfer market, I know that De Rossi wants a left winger and it could be Saelemaekers. He’s interested in Kone but I don’t know if they can do everything. This matchday will be important because if Roma and Milan lose, they’re already 8 points behind the top spot in just 3 games.”

Is Fonseca at risk?
“Fonseca has been at risk since he signed. I have never seen such a strong prejudice against a coach, perhaps only with respect to Rudi Garcia last year. For me, Milan is very strong and I think he has made some mistakes from a defensive point of view.”

On Lazio’s transfer market?
“I didn’t like Lazio’s transfer market at all. We have to think about all the quality and character that has been lost. I understand that you can bet on it but quality is highly appreciated. With all the good that can be said for Lotito, the time has come to make people dream.”

Is Milan in the race for the Scudetto?
“Milan has an incredible series of alternatives this season. I put Milan, Napoli and Atalanta as Juventus. Then I repeat, I really liked Napoli. For me Lukaku is a great centre forward and I have followed Neres since he was at Ajax. In general, a great transfer market”.

About Bologna?
“For me, Bologna lacks vision. Sartori is very good but in my opinion for a medium-high range, not very high. In short, you can’t always make bets. I think that in terms of quality, in a season in which you will have eight more games, the bar has been lowered”.

On Chiesa at Liverpool?
“He is very happy. His dream was the Premier League. When he was approached by Roma he said he only wanted Inter or Milan in Italy. However, he has truly fulfilled his dream of playing in England. For me he has great potential and if he learns to train with others he can become a truly important player”.
