Live TMW
At the first championship match against the Lazio He had his first taste of the pitch at the Olimpico, at the end of the match, against Fiorentina, then he played for the whole second half: Anthony Raymond is settling into his new reality of Venice after arriving on loan for a season from Bologna. The promising 2004-born striker showed off his skills last year at Ternana in Serie B (9 goals and an assist for him in his first real experience among the “big boys”) and now he’s trying to do the same in Serie A.

The press conference begins at 2.30pm
What are your first impressions of the group? What made you decide to join Venezia?
“First of all, I was made up my mind by the fact that there was an ambitious project, even for me. It’s a club that is growing a lot. Then there’s the aspect of the public, when I played here with Ternana I felt the great warmth that they transmit to the team. I can’t wait to play at Penzo”.
Your strengths?
“Definitely the attack of the depth and the movements of freeing oneself in the penalty area. I will give 300% when I am called upon to try to win the matches”.
Do Pohjanpalo and Gytkjaer help you?
“Yes, they help me and give me advice, like many other teammates. They are very close to me with their great experience.”
You immediately came close to scoring against Fiorentina.
“Too bad, Terracciano took it from me. But the goal will come.”
How will you limit Vanoli’s Torino on Friday? They are among the fittest.
“We respect everyone, but without fear. We compete with everyone and we will try to do so on Friday too.”
You come from Bologna, what can you tell us about the experience you had there with important players and a coach like Thiago Motta?
“It was definitely a great experience, but now I’m happy and motivated at Venezia and I only think about Venezia.”
About Francis?
“It helps me a lot. It helps me grow especially in my movements towards the ball and in general as a striker.”
In Florence you played a good match, how do you judge your performance?
“In my opinion, yes, we played a good game. We tried to play with our principles and with courage.”
Is there a striker you look up to?
“When I was little I admired Cavani so much when he played for Napoli. Icardi too.”
Where did you choose to live, in the historic center?
“I’m still looking for a house. I’ll live near the camp, in Mestre I think.”
The shirt number?
“There’s no particular reason. Balotelli had the number 45 (laughs, ed.)”.
2.50pm – The press conference ends.
