Liverpool, Bajcetic out: the 2004-born midfielder goes on loan to Salzburg

From England to Austria, on loan. Stefan Bajcetic is ready to leave Liverpool to move to Salzburg, fresh from getting past the Champions League round and thus securing passage to the maxi-group, on a temporary basis. The 2004-born player could undergo his medical tests with the Red Bull club in the next few hours.

The Austrian club, according to international market expert Fabrizio Romano, is finalising the final details with the British club. A 19-year-old midfielder and Spanish under-21 international, Bajcetic is a boy who grew up in Celta Vigo before moving to Liverpool in January 2021. Among the ranks of Reds he continued his growth path in the youth team, starting from the Under 18s up to the first team in the 2022/23 season.

Last season, however, he was used only 11 times in the Premier League and for four snatches of games in the Champions League by Jurgen Klopp. This year, with Arne Slot, things have not improved: just 25 minutes on the pitch in the first three Premier League games. Hence Liverpool’s decision to loan him out. Now his future is with Salzburg.
