Pontus AlmqvistParma’s new winger, spoke today at a press conference to introduce himself to his new fans: “Parma is a club with a great history and Pecchia’s style of play suits me. Many Swedish legends have made history here, they are in international clubs. It’s a great step forward for my career, I think it’s the place where I can do best and for this reason I had no doubts”.
Do you think that the performance against Parma last year convinced the club to take you?
“Definitely. Parma played a great game, we lost 4-2. I like the way the team plays and it suits me, even watching it from the outside it seemed like a great team.”
Did you expect to make your debut right away?
“I’m always ready, then the coach decides. Whether it’s a part of the game or the whole ninety minutes, I’ll give my all.”
On Saturday you could meet a Swedish legend, Ibrahimovic. Would you feel like sending him a message?
“Last year I already met Milan, unfortunately I wasn’t able to exchange a few words with him. Let’s see if there will be an opportunity on Saturday. What will I tell him? We’ll see based on how the match goes (laughs, ed.)”.
