FC Como Women is thrilled to announce a historic multi-year partnership with global sportswear brand Nike. This collaboration marks Nike’s debut as the official supplier for an independent women’s football club in Italy.

As part of the partnership announcement, FC Como Women launched the “Il Mio Posto è Qui” campaign, the club’s creative platform. The campaign reflects the club’s origins, what it represents to its fans, and promotes its performance on the pitch.

The campaign features FC Como Women’s new monochrome home and away kits for the 2024/25 season, a key part of the club’s rebranding initiative launched in early July.

The players were photographed by renowned sports, fashion and lifestyle photographer Alessandro Simonetti. Simonetti has achieved international recognition for his series of self-published works, including collaborations with Diesel, Pirelli, Ducati, Rapha, CP Company and Coach, to name a few.

“Despite coming from a photojournalistic background, his method and shooting style are often oriented towards an artistic perspective, with a specific creative vision and outcome, rather than simply a visual chronicle of unfolding events. Renowned for gritty and intense, yet distinctly stylised photographs, often shot in black and white, one of Simonetti’s main goals is to create timeless images, with an underlying philosophy of finding beauty in the unexpected.” – Dazed&Confused

Additionally, in an unusual move for the footwear giant, all FCCW players will have the opportunity to wear Nike shoes made in Italy. About 40 miles southeast of Venice is the small town of Montebelluna, home to Nike’s master craftsmen, a select and dedicated team that embodies the spirit of the Swoosh. These artisans dedicate their days to meticulously crafting elite Nike shoes, often custom-made for the world’s best athletes. This unprecedented offering reflects Nike’s forward-thinking partnership.

In March, Mercury/13 announced the acquisition of a controlling stake in FC Como Women. The immediate priority was to secure a technical sponsor. Nike emerged as the preferred partner due to their affinity with the values and vision for the future of women’s football. This partnership marks a significant milestone for the club.

Reasons for the Change:

Mercury/13 chose Nike for their Italian debut because Nike’s mission and values align with theirs. Nike’s commitment to women’s sport is evident in their approach to redefining athleticism with empathy and inclusivity. They are leading a sports revolution that embraces all forms of movement and intensity, making sport accessible to all, challenging traditional coaching norms and fostering meaningful relationships between athletes and companies.

“It is a great pleasure to announce this historic alliance between Nike and FC Como Women. The last few months have been the most exciting of my career as we forged a unique partnership with Nike. Their commitment to women’s football is inspiring. Ultimately, we see the world the same way, and there is nothing more powerful than working alongside those who have a great vision for the future,” said Victoire Cogevina ReynalCo-CEO and Co-Founder of Mercury/13 and negotiating representative on behalf of the FCCW.
