The hypothesis of the ‘Moccagatta’ of Alessandria has now set, Juventus has decided to “transfer” the Next Gen to the ‘Pozzo-La Marmora’ in Biellawhich will host the first match of the Second Team in the 2024-25 Serie C championship tomorrow evening: the opponent on duty will be Audace Cerignola (we recall that the Bianconeri, thanks to the arrival of the third B Team, Milan Futuro, have been moved to Group C). Work on the facility was completed in recent days, and now everything is ready for the debut.
In this regard, as you can read on Allsportshe spoke thus the Sports Councillor of the Municipality of Biella Giacomo Moscarola: “I think I can say that, at the end of the first season (Biella was home to the women’s team, ed.), the satisfaction was mutual. And so around the month of May we started the first contacts to make our stadium home for the Next Gen too. Some structural interventions were necessary, starting with the installation of 600 seats in the popular stand intended for the away sector, which previously had none; to this were added the implementation of the video surveillance system requested by the Police Headquarters, the repair of the tunnel, the restoration of some paintwork and the preparation for the LED system on the edge of the pitch. An investment that the municipality took charge of and this because, let’s not forget, the stadium is municipal and thanks to these interventions it will now be usable to host other events of national importance. In addition to the fact that, having the same colors, when Biellese returns to Serie D it will have a completely renovated facility at its disposal”.
The city’s response was also excellent: “There is great interest in the city – continues the Councilor -, especially because Juventus has been placed in a group in which there are many famous teams with a past in Serie A. I’m thinking of Catania, Avellino, Benevento… I’ve already had a lot of positive feedback, even from those with southern origins and therefore can’t wait to admire their team up close. Furthermore, the arrival of opponents from so far away will also be precious for our hospitality sector, which I’m sure will be ready to welcome teams and fans in the best possible way”.
