In an interview released to the official website, the new Salernitana midfielder Roberto Soriano stated the following:
“I’m really happy to be here. It’s been a long journey, but in the end I’ve managed to find what I consider the right environment to relaunch myself. I followed the team both against Spezia and against Cittadella and I’m convinced that the comebacks are not a coincidence. I’m therefore joining a group that has a lot of enthusiasm and an incredible desire to give Salernitana a positive season. I must admit that I was impressed by the curve, seeing all those people who supported us up close was beautiful and it was exactly the type of context I needed to get back to expressing myself at my best after a period of forced inactivity. Here I want to show off the best of my repertoire, be available to my teammates on and off the pitch, also counting on my great experience. Role? The coach will decide this, I imagine that in the 4-3-3 I could act as a mezzala. My hope is to return to the pitch soon and make an important contribution to the Granata cause, I’m already dreaming of my first goal under the Curva Sud or some decisive assists for our forwards. We know that Serie B is a long and difficult championship, but the people support us and we want to repay in the best way all those who will support us at home and away. Personally I feel good, I am very happy to play for Salernitana. The first impressions are absolutely positive, I am at the coach’s disposal and my support for the younger ones will not be lacking. I am the first to put myself on the line, we have a great fan base behind us and I couldn’t have made a better choice. Serie B is tough, but there is also Salernitana! Before the technical aspect, we will need grit and energy: in this aspect I see that there is heart”.
