Tottenham locks down one of their young talents. The English capital club has announced the signing of the first professional contract for Mikey Moore: an extraordinary birthday present (he turned 17 yesterday) for the boy born in London, a product of the youth sector of the Spurs.

At Tottenham since the age of 7, Moore made his first-team debut on matchday 34 of last season’s Premier League, coming on for Maddison a few minutes from the end of the match against Manchester City. At the age of 16 years, nine months and three days, he thus became the youngest player to play a game in the English top flight for the Londoners.
