As in the national team, Donnarumma becomes PSG’s 1: shirt number changes

Since Gianluigi Donnarumma he landed, very young, in the football of the big boys, he never wore the number one shirt. At Milan, after having worn it in the Primavera, when Sinisa Mihajlovic made him debut he was forced to change and chose the number 99, the year of birth, a number that he then wore for his entire experience in red and black.

After moving to Paris Saint-Germain, with the number 99 occupied, Donnarumma changed again and went to number 50. Then, starting from the 2022/23 season, he returned to 99, the number he had worn until last year. But he will no longer wear it. In fact, PSG announced the decision of our national team’s goalkeeper:

“Number 50 when he arrived at the club in 2021, then 99 in the last two years, Gianluigi Donnarumma will now wear the number 1 shirt this season,” reads a note that appeared on the French club’s social media accounts. It should be noted that Donnarumma already wears the number 1 for the national team and will now have the same number at PSG.
