Venezia insists on Sorrentino: official offer presented to Monza

The Venice is looking for a goalkeeper to partner Jesse Joronen and the latest idea is the one that leads to Alessandro Sorrentino of the Monza. As reported by Sky Sportsthe Venetians have presented an offer to the Brianza team to buy the Italian goalkeeper outright: the Lombard club was offered a fixed sum of one million euros plus bonuses for a total of around 2 million, plus a significant percentage on the resale.

The 2002-born player’s contract will expire in 2027. He has 7 appearances in Serie A, all last season, in which he has conceded 16 goals. In his career he has worn the Monza Under 19 jersey 2 times, the Pescara Under 19 49 times, the Abruzzesi Under 17 14 times and the Delfino first team 30 times. In 2020-2021 he won a Primavera 2 Super Cup.

Di Francesco had spoken about Venezia like this some time ago, making it clear that there would be other signings: “This team is obviously incomplete at the moment, so we will have to redo some work, but the fact that many will stay is important, they will be able to transmit my football ideas to the others. I am evaluating the players, but I think that 4-5 guys will be needed, both among those who already know the championship, and among the good youngsters. It will be essential to have the pairs in the roles. At the moment we are trying 3-4-2-1 or similar, for this reason I say that in the middle of the field something is missing, on the wings too. Up front the team is perhaps a little more complete, but on the full backs something is needed as well as in defence. We are looking for some young players, but also some experienced ones”.
