Cittadella, Gorini: “We are a bit behind tactically. We want to go through against Sassuolo”

Edward Gorinicoach of the Citadelhas released some statements through the columns of The Gazette on his team’s path towards the Serie B championship:

“We’ve done two weeks of intense work in the mountains, with double daily training sessions. From a physical point of view we’ve put fuel in the engine, from a tactical point of view however we’re a bit behind due to a few too many setbacks that have happened to several players. We’re behind, we know that, everything’s normal anyway. What’s disappointing is that from the beginning I had five less players in Lavarone, so fewer changes available during the friendlies and consequently fewer changes in the tests: we’re a bit behind on a tactical level for this very reason, because some people haven’t been able to play as much as I wanted.

The new arrivals? They are integrating well: they are starting to understand our mentality, our way of presenting ourselves on the pitch, there is great enthusiasm on their part.

The Cup match against Sassuolo? We want to try to get through the round with our characteristics. Maybe with the heat and the preparation still underway we won’t be able to do it for the whole ninety minutes: we’ll make up for it with the substitutions, with our character and willpower”.
