Filippo Inzaghi after the draw with Inter: “They are uncatchable in person. Honour to Simone”

Philip Inzaghi he spoke to Sky Sports after his Pisa’s draw against his brother’s Inter Simone: “It’s an early August match, but I liked the team’s spirit regardless of the result. The evening was partly ruined, losing Esteves is serious for us, there’s sadness. The team fought and battled against the Italian champions. From Monday it will really start to count and the response has been positive”.

Can Pisa be ambitious?
“We come from two difficult years, the goal is to do our best. This team and this fan base must finish at least in the top 8, this is year zero and we want to lay the foundations to be ready for the goal. We are lucky to have a strong ownership and a passionate fan base”.

What else will the market say?
“We have clear ideas, we want players who make the difference. The market is long, we will reach the objectives gradually. We will arrive at the first championship match ready and with the team almost 100% complete”.

What did you and Simone say to each other?
“Inter are a subject of study for us coaches, it’s incredible how he made them play. They are untouchable from the pitch, honour to him and to Inter who I thank for this evening, it was a source of great satisfaction. I wish him well, but Simone is now one of the best coaches in Europe and he deserved it with his work”.
