Women’s Serie A TV rights, private negotiation for Packages A and C. New deadline for the others

With a press release issued yesterday evening, the FIGC Women’s Football Division took stock of the transfer of television rights for the next Serie A championship with two packages – package A (free-to-air rights for the championship, the Coppa Italia final and the Supercoppa Italiana) and package C (free-to-air and pay rights for the championship) – for which private negotiations will be held with the operators who have submitted an offer, even if it is below the required requirements. While for the other two, the deadlines have been extended. As in the past season, therefore, we will have to wait until the eve of the start of the championship – or perhaps even later in the worst case scenario – to find out who will broadcast the championship matches. This is the press release:

“The Division announces that the Club Assembly held today, after the deadline for submitting offers in relation to the invitation published on 18 July 2024, pursuant to art. 3.5 of the invitation, has resolved:

with reference to Package B and Package D, to extend the deadline for submitting offers, as follows:
for Package B, the offers must be received, using the methods described in the invitation, by 12.00 on 23 August 2024;
for Package D, the offers must be received, using the methods described in the invitation, by 12.00 on 29 November 2024;
Except as stated above, all the clauses in the invitation remain fully valid and operational, including the indication of the minimum price for the individual packages;

with reference to Package A and Package C, to proceed with the initiation of a private negotiation with the communication operators who have submitted, within the terms of the invitation, an offer in relation to these packages“.
