Olympique Marseille, Nketiah target for attack but no agreement with Arsenal

After the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, sold for 9 million euros to Al-Qadsiah, Olympique Marseille is actively looking for a striker to strengthen itself in this summer market. The French club’s number one target is the Arsenal striker, Eddie Nketiah. According to rumors of The AthleticOM have submitted a new offer, estimated at €20 million, for the former England international.

This permanent transfer proposal is close to the formula desired by the Gunners to let the striker go. However, the London club seems inclined to say no to this offer again, considering it insufficient from a financial point of view. To sell Nketiah, currently under contract until June 2027, the English vice-champion club expects a higher sum. Despite Arsenal’s high demands, Marseille has no intention of giving up and is ready to continue negotiations.

Crystal Palace are also following the striker: according to the English press, the centre forward will be one of Arteta’s excellent sacrifices of the summer, who would like a heavy reinforcement up front and at the same time a supporter at the back to respond to the injury suffered by Saliba. In addition of course to that of the former Bologna player Riccardo Calafiori, whose arrival in London has been official for a few hours.
