Mbappé buys Caen: his investment fund is the new shareholder of the French club

As announced on Monday, the Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe (25 years old, 29 games and 27 goals in Ligue 1 in the 2023-2024 season), through his investment fund Coalition Capital and his commercial company Interconnected Ventures, has today officially become the majority shareholder of Stade Malherbe Caen. For a sum estimated between 15 and 20 million euros, the former Parisian has purchased the shares from Oaktree, representing 80% of the capital of the Ligue 2 team. The former Paris Saint-Germain striker thus becomes one of the youngest owners of a professional football club.

“Interconnected Ventures is proud to announce a project to acquire, through its investment entity Coalition Capital, the shares held by funds managed by Oaktree in Stade Malherbe Caen. The parties now undertake to follow the validation process with the competent authorities. PAC Invest, Pierre-Antoine Capton’s investment company, remains a shareholder of the club and thus becomes a partner of Coalition Capital,” reads an official statement from the Norman club.
