Sam Morsy has today signed a contract renewal with Ipswich Town, who wanted to reward the captain after the English team’s promotion to the Premier League: “We are delighted to announce that captain Sam Morsy has signed a new contract with the Club. The midfielder has extended his stay at Portman Road until the summer of 2026, having played a central role in Town’s two consecutive promotions from League One to the Premier League.

Since joining from Middlesbrough in August 2021, Sam has made 131 appearances for the Blues, scoring 10 goals and setting the highest standards both on and off the pitch,” read a club statement.

“Extending my stay at this special club is something I’m really proud of,” Sam told TownTV. “I’m entering my fourth season at the Club and we’ve had unprecedented success over the last two years, and it’s an honour for me to have been a part of that.

Manager Kieran McKenna said: “We are delighted that Sam has extended his contract with the Club as we prepare to enter the Premier League. Anyone who has watched Sam play will know how consistent he has been as a performer over a significant period of time, which has been central to everything we have been able to achieve together over the last two seasons.”
