During today’s live broadcast of All Clicense plate transmission TMW Radio and dedicated to the world of Serie C, intervened the Sports Director of Sestri Levante Carlo Musawho first outlined a general overview of the market, which is currently a bit blocked: “Except for the big teams that have good availability and a strong interest in completing the team before the start of the championship, the others are all a bit waiting. This is a domino effect from Serie A down, many guys are still in retreat with the A and B teams waiting for the reinforcements to arrive first, and in addition there is also the issue of ever decreasing economic availability. Those who sell ask for certain figures, those who buy maybe play low… I think that many operations will be seen at the end, the laws of the market lead to these”.
Sestri has already taken action. Perhaps it was unexpected, but Francesco Anacoura has returned to defend the rossoblù posts.
“His return was really fundamental for us, we spoke about it with the owners and we realized that it was important to make an effort to have him back with us because in addition to being a really important goalkeeper for the category, he is also a reference for the locker room and the fans. His return made us proud, we are sure he will continue to give his important contribution on and off the pitch”.
Where will the club intervene now? Considering that you have always created interesting young players…
“Yes, we are a mix of young and experienced players, we give the boys the opportunity to express themselves in the category, and for the moment we want to focus on this, completing the roster of under players also with loans from the higher categories. Then, calmly, we will try to complete the squad with some over players that we consider appropriate to include”.
Speaking of youngsters, another Under 23 in your group, this time Milan. What do you think of this project?
“After facing Juve last season, there is now a lot of curiosity around Milan Futuro: it is making its debut in the category, and among other things they have three of our former players, Gala, Omoregbe and Sandri. In any case, the Second Teams project is a fascinating one for the boys, because taking a step up to Serie C is fundamental for the boys, they understand the football of the big boys, they have the pressure of the result, they compare themselves with more experienced people of a different age with whom they share a dressing room, it is a right path. But I would try to introduce some rules, which are aimed at the growth of Italian boys: I know it is not easy, we are going to clash with state laws and the European Community, but I believe it is important for our nation to focus on our young talents”.

“He is a very important element for us on and off the pitch, he embodies the true corsair spirit, he has played with us since the Eccellenza. Any words would be superfluous. He is certainly a point of reference for everyone”.
Among the objectives, the valorization of young people. But what about the sporting result?
“The development of young people is the goal, last year we were third in Italy for the development of under-18s, and in our group only behind Cesena. But then there is also the goal of maintaining the category. We are very happy to be able to play in Sestri this season of Serie C, returning in front of our fans, in our home, is really fundamental for us: safety, in this whole context would be our championship”.
