Former Milan defender Giuseppe Pancarogave an interview to Milannews24, dwelling on some current issues in the AC Milan world, but also on Italy’s flop at the European Championship in Germany.
Milan has chosen Morata as Giroud’s heir. Is he the right man to start over with?
“Morata is a strong striker, of international level, with great experience. He also comes from a victory at the European Championship and above all, considering the quality/price ratio, I think he is a very good purchase”.
We start again from Inter’s second star, can Milan compete with the right additions or are there other contenders for the Scudetto?
“Inter starts ahead of everyone. Milan starts with a new technical project and therefore with a new coach who needs time but has a very good starting base. If well supported in the transfer market with 3-4 targeted purchases, at that point they could have an interesting championship”.
Last on the National Team. The flop at the European Championship was as surprising as it was disappointing. Where should Spalletti start again?
“As for the National team, the discussion is broader here and it would take time to address it. One thing is certain, the talents in our youth sectors are there and this is also confirmed by the match at the U19 European Championship between Italy and Spain where we were superior to them. We should have the courage to let these guys play, it is one of the solutions but then there are others starting from the structures to the training of coaches for the youth sector”.
