Chelsea aim to reduce Maresca’s squad: Newcastle eye Madueke

As the market gets into full swing Chelseait is increasingly clear that the Blues must first think about trimming down the already abundant squad of players who ended up outside the project, before being able to possibly think about other incoming signings. From Marca in Spain comes the news that Newcastle have targeted one of the players of Enzo Marescanamely Noni Madueke.

Newcastle are indeed looking for a “top class” right winger during the current transfer window and Madueke is top of the wish list after team-mate Michael Olise he went to Bayern Munich.

In the past few days, Madueke himself had spoken out on the thorny issue regarding his teammate Enzo Fernandez, who ended up in the eye of the storm along with the Argentina national team, given that he was the one who filmed the whole thing and posted it on Instagram. There were in fact questions about whether this situation could now have repercussions on those clubmates who might feel implicated or offended by what happened. Speaking to the BBC, Madueke said: “It’s something that concerns us as players, Enzo will come back and join his team again and everything will be fine between us.” These comments follow the words of Maresca, who previously, during Chelsea’s pre-season tour, had declared: “The situation with Enzo Fernandez is already clear and has been clarified. There will be no problem.”
