Under 23 Treasure. From Mavididi to Soulè: Juve has collected over 120 million

Now even in Italy it is increasingly clear the importance of the Under 23 team to grow young players, of the second team in Serie C as an intermediate step to grow promising Primavera players who are too immature for the top league. It is so from a technical point of view, but in the same way it is from an economic point of view.

They have already left Juventus this summer Iling Junior and Barrenechea in the operation that brought the Brazilian Douglas Luiz to Turin, they will soon do the same Matias Soule and Dean Huijsen. From these four exits, the black and white club, without considering bonuses and percentages on future resale, collects over 60 million euros. It is the fruit of the work of the Under 23, a work that has led the black and whites to collect over 120 million euros in recent seasons.

In the beginning it was Stephy Mavididi. Self Frank Tongya (now at Salernitana) was sent to Olympique Marseille in exchange for Marley Ake (now in the first team) with a valuation of around 8 million euros, Mavididi after a year on loan at Dijon was sold to Montpellier for 6.3 million euros. Also in 2020 Simone Mason was sold to Atalanta for seven million euros, while in the summer of 2021 Manolo Portanova he went to Genoa for around 10 million.

Radu Dragusin and Koni De Winter They are both products of the Under 23. From these two sales, both to Genoa, Juventus has collected around 20 million euros. Sold for a good sum also James Vrioni: approximately four million euros collected in the summer of 2022 for his transfer to the New England Revolution.

These are the most important names that passed through the Juventus Under 23 and then sold for a significant sum also thanks to that experience: definitely not bad. And then today the first team roster also includes Miretti, Fagioli, Yildiz and Nicolussi Caviglia: they too, before finding themselves in Serie A, passed through the Under 23. Pillars of the Juventus to come or certain capital gains: it’s a virtuous circle.
