Press conference of John DiLorenzo at Napoli, a week after his agent explained the whole controversy that had arisen around the future of the Azzurri captain. The full-back began: “After the season I spoke to everyone, the president, the director, the coach. I took my time to decide. My desire is to stay, I do it with the utmost desire and enthusiasm”.
Did any of your classmates try to convince you to stay?
“I’ve never had any problems with my teammates or with those who work in the Napoli world. They all welcomed me well, it’s already been two tiring days because the coach makes you work so hard. But I’m in the right place, in the place where I want to be and that’s the most important thing.”
On the importance of Conte in the decision.
“He has done an important job. I stayed in Naples because I want to stay in Naples, I didn’t stay for Conte. Then I know what kind of person the manager is, I know how he works, I know that with him many of the dynamics that happened to me and my teammates last season won’t happen because it’s an important management, the manager comes from important teams. In this respect I can say that I stayed for Conte, but I stayed in Naples because those who know me know how much I care about playing for Napoli”.
