First training session in Pinzolo with the Torino jersey for Che Adams. The Scottish striker, the new face of the attack who arrived from the market in recent days, joined his teammates in retreat late yesterday evening after having completed the bureaucratic procedures in his homeland. Born in 1996, Adams signed a three-year contract, as a free agent, which will guarantee him over 2 million euros net per season. “Ciao Torino! I’m so excited for the next chapter and I can’t wait to start in my new home. Let’s go!”, the player himself said on social media last Tuesday after the official announcement by Torino. Now, it’s time for the first training session under the orders of mister Vanoli.

Adams was born in Leicester, England, on 13 July 1996. He grew up as a footballer in the youth systems of Coventry City, St Andrews, Oadby Town and Ilkeston. In November 2014 he was purchased by Sheffield United, with whom he played two seasons in League One. In August 2016 he moved to Birmingham City: three Championship titles with the Blues for a total of 123 appearances and 38 goals, 22 of which in the 2018-’19 championship.

In July 2019 he joined Southampton, where he made his Premier League debut on 10 August 2019 in the match against Burnley. With the Saints, between the league and cups, he made 191 appearances and scored 48 goals. Last season he contributed significantly to Southampton’s return to the Premier League and scored 17 goals in 46 games.

Adams also made 33 appearances and scored 6 goals for Scotland, with whom he took part in the 2024 European Championships in Germany, playing in all three matches played by his national team.
