The story of Hellas Verona-Rovereto 7-1 (by Francesco Galvagni)
Second pre-season outing for Paolo Zanetti’s Hellas Verona who faces Rovereto (Eccellenza team) in the Folgaria retreat. The Vicenza coach changes something compared to the eleven that took to the field with the Top 22 Dilettanti. 4-2-3-1 with Tchatchoua, Magnani, Coppola and Frese in front of Montipò; Belahyane and Serdar in the middle, Harroui tre-quartista with Tavsan and Mitrovic on the wings behind Mosquera, central offensive reference.

First half in which a Verona physiologically packed with workloads moves the ball with Rovereto that, well positioned on the field, first finds a big opportunity with Salvaterra who turns towards the goal in the area after a burst of energy from Bonilla on the left finding the response of Montipò, to then go ahead in the 39th minute with a thunderbolt from outside by Pataoner. After the disadvantage Hellas regroups finding the equalizer just before the double whistle with a cross-shot from the right by Tchatchoua that ends up in the goal deflected by a defender. At half time it is 1-1.

A more relaxed second half for Verona, Zanetti sends out the rest of the team with Mosquera first finding the 2-1 on a penalty, then also scoring a brace that makes it three with a left-footed shot in progression. There is also room for Dani Silva, a right-footed shot from the edge of the area into the corner for the poker and Cissè, a header in the six-yard box on a perfect assist with Lazovic’s “trivela” for the fifth and a right-footed shot from just beyond the edge for the 6-1; finally the young Ajayi also finds glory with the definitive 7-1.

The story of Lazio-Triestina 1-1 (by Lorenzo Beccarisi)
Lazio’s 2024 training camp in Auronzo di Cadore ends with a draw. Guendouzi’s penalty kick opened the scoring against Triestina after eight minutes of play in a match that was blocked by the Biancocelesti’s tiredness and the heavy pitch after the heavy rain that fell on Zandegiacomo. Lazzari’s own goal set the score at 1-1 with nine minutes remaining. Good news for Baroni from the offensive quartet, with Guendouzi scoring, Tchaouna and Isaksen alive and well, while Noslin regrets hitting the posts twice in the first half. The blow for the Biancoceleste coach came in the 39th minute of the first half with Romagnoli’s muscular problem. Tomorrow morning is the last training session before returning to Rome, the next friendly is scheduled for Saturday 27 in Germany against Hansa Rostock.

Guendouzi opens from the penalty spot
After five minutes of studying, Lazio becomes dangerous on a set piece in the seventh minute. Free kick by Tchaouna, Noslin is anticipated and from the following corner Tchaouna crosses, on the rebound Isaksen shoots on goal, on the imprecise rebound by Roos Patric is hit by Correia and the referee Lovison whistles for a penalty. From the spot, Guendouzi’s conversion is perfect, he kicks crosswise under the crossbar and gives the Biancocelesti the lead. New opportunity for Lazio in the eleventh minute, again on a corner, after Guendouzi’s header Isaksen shoots over the crossbar. In the 13th minute another opportunity created by Tchaouna, his cross is headed by Germano and ends up on the head of Noslin who dives and hits the base of the post. Nice move by Isaksen in the 19th minute, his left-footed cross-shot is deflected into a corner by Roos, but referee Lovison doesn’t see the touch and awards a goal kick. In the 24th minute, Triestina’s first shot arrives, good play by Torrisi’s team, Vicario comes in from the right and with his left foot kicks towards Provedel’s goal, who blocks it on the ground. Another move by Isaksen in the 35th minute, who skips past two opponents and earns a corner kick from which the Biancocelesti are unable to create a goal opportunity. The second post of the match for Noslin who in the 38th minute leads a 3-on-3 alone after a bad ball lost by Triestina; the former Verona player kicks from the edge and hits the post to Roos’ left. At the end of the move, yet another muscle stoppage in recent days, Romagnoli stops due to a strain on his left adductor, Casale takes his place. The last chance of the first half is for Triestina, El Azrak tries from 20 meters but closes too much with his right foot that ends up on the outside of the net.

Triestina risks winning
Baroni changes his Lazio team at half-time, leaving only Patric, Rovella, Noslin and Casale on the pitch, who came on five minutes before the end of the first half due to Romagnoli’s injury. Zaccagni’s first chance with the number ten on his back in the tenth minute of the second half, Cancellieri heads his cross over the crossbar. Noslin tries again in the 58th minute, but his right-footed shot from the edge is blocked by Roos. A flurry of changes in the 60th minute, Baroni replaces Patric and Noslin with Ruggeri and Castellanos, while Santoni makes seven changes, turning the lineup around. In the 65th minute, Lazio gets off to a great start with Cancellieri passing it vertically to Akpa-Akpro, the Ivorian can’t find the right play and Roos blocks it on the ground. In the 70th minute, Diakite comes in for Triestina and is immediately forced to intervene on Casale’s right-footed shot from the edge of the area. In the final minutes Triestina believes in it and tries to attack Lazio more, looking for the equaliser. The goal arrives nine minutes from the end on a daring rebound that sees Lazzari beat Mandas with an unlikely backheel. Lazio tries to regain the lead, Baroni brings on the young Sana in place of Rovella but doesn’t find the spark to win the last friendly and must thank Mandas who in the 89th minute saves on Jonsson’s counterattack after a defensive lapse by Ruggeri. The last Biancoceleste match under the Tre Cime di Lavaredo thus ends 1-1.
