Milan has reached an agreement with Youssouf Fofana on the basis of a four-year contract. This is what they say in France, but the game is not over yet because the agreement with Monaco needs to be found, writes Sportmediaset. And the gap still seems wide: the Principality club will not be satisfied with twenty million, they would like 35 for a player whose contract expires in a year.
The outcome of the negotiations is not a foregone conclusion, given the involvement of Manchester United and Atletico Madrid: the English, after having snatched Zirkzee from Milan, want to try again with the French midfielder, while the Spanish, after Fullkrug and Pavlovic, are once again challenging the Red Devils on the market.
His career
Fofana began his career in the youth system of Drancy, before joining Strasbourg. With Strasbourg, he played in both the reserve team and the first team, gaining experience in Ligue 1. In January 2020, he was signed by Monaco, where he continued to grow and establish himself as one of the most promising midfielders in Ligue 1. In the 2023/24 season, Youssouf Fofana played 35 games for Monaco, scoring 4 goals and making a significant contribution in both the defensive and offensive phases: as is known, the player is now on holiday, after participating in the European Championship with Deschamps’ team.
