Genoa still looking for a goalkeeper. Atalanta’s Gollini opportunity

TMW

Genoa continues to search for a starting goalkeeper after the departure of Josep Martinez. There are difficulties for Dominik Kotarsi, considered fundamental for the Champions League play-offs by PAOK Thessaloniki, therefore in addition to a high valuation – around 9 million euros – there is also this component that causes friction regarding the possible arrival of the Croatian, Ajax school, in rossoblù.

So, looking around, Genoa has set its sights on Pierluigi Gollini, a goalkeeper owned by Atalanta who will say goodbye in this transfer window. It is a situation that is easier to resolve, if anything, even if the Nerazzurri would like to sell him to raise cash after two loans that did not lead to his redemption. He did reasonably well in Naples and the Grifone would give him a starting spot, thus meeting his desire to return to the forefront and, perhaps, relaunch himself to better levels.

It remains to be seen what evaluation Atalanta will make of him and whether Genoa will actually make an offer. In recent weeks there was also talk of Monza, while Roma is now an abandoned path after the arrival of Matthew Ryan as second goalkeeper. Gollini still has two years of contract with Atalanta. The alternatives also lead to Silvestri, Roman and Terracciano.
