Aston Villa coup, medical visits for Onana: he arrives from Everton, the figures of the operation

Aston Villa’s midfield move. After Barrenechea, another midfield reinforcement arrives, this time of international calibre and for a very high fee. It is about Amadou Onanaa footballer who has already arrived in Birmingham to undergo medical tests. Villans will shell out £50 million, equivalent to nearly €60 million, to sign the Belgian international from Everton.

Onana has made 72 appearances for Everton, including 37 last season in all competitions after joining from Lille for £30m (over €35m) in 2022. The midfielder played for Belgium at Euro 2024, finishing in the last 16 when his country were eliminated by France.

Already at the beginning of June, before the start of the European Championship, Onana had sent hints about the future: “I want to be a much better player. And my goal is to play for an international world club in three years. I also want to qualify with Belgium for the 2026 World Cup in America. I dream of it. And I will do everything I can to make these dreams come true too. Future? I have to and will answer this question very professionally: I am under contract with Everton. I will do my best at the European Championship and then we will see.”
