Alvaro Morata is a new AC Milan player. After the medical tests carried out in the last few hours in Madrid, now comes the official announcement from the Rossoneri club: “AC Milan is pleased to announce that it has permanently acquired the sporting performances of the footballer Álvaro Borja Morata Martín from Club Atlético de Madrid. Captain of the Spanish national team, with which he has just become European Champion, Morata has signed a contract with the Rossoneri Club until 30 June 2028 with an option for a further year.
Born in Madrid on 23 October 1992, Álvaro grew up in the Spanish youth sectors between Atlético, Getafe and Real Madrid, making his debut with the Blancos’ first team in December 2010. During his career he has worn the shirts of Real Madrid, Juventus, Chelsea and Atlético Madrid, making 506 appearances and 172 goals, winning two UEFA Champions Leagues, one UEFA Super Cup, one FIFA Club World Cup, two LaLigas, two Copa del Rey, one Supercopa de España, two Serie A Championships, three Italian Cups, two Italian Super Cups and one FA Cup. With the Spanish national team, with which he boasts 80 appearances and 36 goals, in addition to having won EURO 2024, he has won the 2022/23 UEFA Nations League. Alvaro Morata will wear the Rossoneri number 7 shirt.
Contract and number 7 shirt
For Morata, here is a contract worth 5 million euros plus bonuses per season, while Milan itself has paid the Colchoneros the termination clause of around 13 million euros. As mentioned, the Spaniard will wear the number 7 shirt, given to him with great willingness and generosity by Yacine Adli (who moves to number 94). Milan’s number 9, therefore, remains free while waiting for the market…
