Morata speaks as a Milan striker: “I can’t wait. Ibra has given me confidence”

The Spanish centre forward Alvaro Morata spoke to the microphones of ‘Sky’ after the meeting with the CEO of Milan Giorgio Furlani to define the final contractual details with the Rossoneri club. The footballer born in 1992 is ready for the third adventure in Serie A, the first without the Juventus jersey.

What convinced you about Milan?
“The reason is simple, namely the trust of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, the team and the coach. I can’t wait to start. Now I’m going on holiday because I have to be with my family who have helped me so much, otherwise I would start training tomorrow”.

Back in Serie A, is it a bit like coming home?
“Yes. You have treated me with incredible respect and I can’t wait to go on holiday to Italy and train with the team and get back to Serie A.”

What did Zlatan pass on to you?
“Positive things. I also know that I have the best years of my career and I want to go to this great club that is Milan.”

Will you have the number 9 shirt?
“I don’t know yet, let’s see.”

Atletico Madrid will receive the €13 million release clause. Morata, who will turn 32 next fall, will receive a four-year contract worth around €4.5 million net per season. The Spanish player will join Milanello after the summer holidays.
