Milan swoops on Samardzic, he is an alternative to Fofana. There is already the first offer to Udinese

Milan pounce on Lazar Samardzic. Given the difficulties for Fofana, Monaco midfielder for whom Milan has proposed 10 million compared to a request of 25 made by the Principality club, the Rossoneri club is evaluating a new name to reinforce its midfield. The dossier of the 2002-born footballer, the Udinese midfielder who last year was a hair’s breadth away from moving to Inter, is being studied.

According to the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’, the Milanese club has already moved forward by presenting an offer to both the boy and the Friulian club and is now waiting for a response. Samardzic is considered an alternative to Fofana: there is already an agreement with the latter, but the resistance of the transalpine club in the last few hours has increased the former Leipzig player’s value.

Yesterday his former coach Gabriele Cioffi spoke about Samardzic like this: “He suffered a particular season: in August, for days on end, he already seemed to be an Inter player, then in January Napoli arrived… It’s not easy for a young player. Perhaps the continuity was lacking because I perceived him in a certain way: a player is also emotions, it’s not that he turns on or off on command. And the condition, just as you gain it quickly, is very easy to lose… There were particular periods, in which we counted the minutes, which then became days and finally months. Samardzic has great potential, the rumours have influenced him but for me he can become special, a big player”.
