In his speech on TMW Radio, journalist Luca Marchetti took stock of the negotiations between Juventus and Atalanta for Koopmeiners: “This will not be the decisive week. Atalanta continues to keep the price high and Juve will not make the deal at these figures. It will take time to soften the issue, with Atalanta wanting to be ready in the event of a farewell. Juve is making it clear that it could lose significant money if Atalanta refuses its offer, because there is no one else behind it. Atalanta remains on its own, but this negotiation will take time. Let’s remember that it refused 40 million last year from Napoli. A compromise of 50 plus bonuses? I believe that 40 is not enough and Juve will never reach 60. Today Juve has two midfielders, Koopmeiners would be the extra element but he is not the only one who could make the team take a leap in quality. And then the teasing begins, you see O’Riley”.
Morata who couldn’t wait to return to Italy, but this time not to Juventus:
“I think it’s a question of different strategies. There was interest in Morata but only to understand how the market is going, today then we need to sell at Juve. Juve has invested in midfield, now we need to sell to then return to investing in the second part of the market. We need to understand the Chiesa, Soulé, Milik issues. It’s a work in progress, more than the others. There was a need for a revolution, difficult to do it in a single session, we need to be patient but we need to speed up. Year zero starts today. And for this reason Allegri’s work must be judged. If you change so much, the responsibility was not just on one side”.
Does Soulé have a bigger market than Chiesa?
“It’s not strange, he’s younger, he hasn’t had any injuries, he doesn’t have a high salary and maybe he’s potentially stronger. Today, it’s preferable to invest the same amount for him.”
