Amrabat in Florence next week? No sign from United on redemption

Manchester United are running out of time to buy Sofyan Amrabat from Fiorentina for the sums agreed last summer. After spending ten million euros on the loan last August, the red devils they would have the possibility of purchasing the Moroccan midfielder’s registration rights by paying the Fiorentina club an additional twenty million euros.

The Premier League club has until the end of this week to exercise the option and for this reason Fiorentina has decided not to call the player up for the Viola Park retreat until this option expires. However, there are no signs from Manchester about a buyout. Quite the opposite. And not even other clubs are in these days starting concrete negotiations for his purchase.
At the moment everything is at a standstill and from next week Amrabat should return to Fiorentina to begin preparations for the new season while waiting for new opportunities: the former Hellas Verona player is currently tied to the lily club by another two years of contract.

The sporting director Malu Mpasinkatu recently spoke about Amrabat to the microphones of ‘Radio FirenzeViola’: “Amrabat is an important player for Fiorentina when he is in good condition. However, if he doesn’t feel like he has any more mental motivation, it’s better to find other solutions. He has a contract and it’s right to respect it. Having said that, if the parties find another way out, perhaps it’s better for everyone.”
