Itaca brought luck to Juve Stabia. Now Latina tries: jersey inspired by Ulysses

It was March 5, so the 2024-25 season, and Juve Stabia beat Casertana, in the Campania derby that further pushed the yellow-blue Wasps towards that Serie B then deservedly conquered. Stabia coach Guido Pagliuca, in the post-match, spoke like this: “It is an important moment, let’s grit our teeth and live this journey together. We know well where Ithaca is, and we will try to reach it, regardless of the outcome of the championship. The club is proud of us, the city too, the goal has already been partially reached, now we must complete the work”.

Thus, with that Homeric comparison, the manager linked his team to the famous poem The Odyssey, and to the character of Ulysses, who after ten years at war in Troy, and with Poseidon against him, still manages to return to his Ithaca.

Perhaps from this inspiration, the Latina’s new jersey which, as the club says, is inspired by the legend of the aforementioned Ulysses and the sorceress Circe; a tribute to the Latin origins and to the Circeo Promontory, symbol of the Pontine coast.
